London Mini Marathon – our 2023 report
Scotland will send teams to the 2024 TCS London Mini Marathon next month.
And we are delighted to name the 24 young athletes selected to represent scottishathletics in London in the U17 and U15 races.
This event now takes place on a Saturday, the day before the main London Marathon, and will happen on Saturday 20 April.
Races are now over a shorter course of 2.6k, which was introduced in 2021 and featured in the event back in October 2022 when Scotland teams were among those to compete.
We thank organisers TCS London Mini Marathon and the Road Running and Cross Country Commission for supporting this important international opportunity for developing athletes.

James Alexander (Garscube Harriers); Jamie Connor (Giffnock North); Kieran Fulton (Moorfoot Runners); Oliver MacDonald (Giffnock North); Oliver Patton (Kilbarchan AAC); Craig Shennan (Giffnock North)
U17 Girls: Caitlyn Heggie (Inverness Harriers); Jessica Inglis (Law and District AAC); Saoirse McNulty (Giffnock North); Katie Sandilands (Fife AC); Abbie Stewart (Stornoway RAC); Amy Teasdale (Kilbarchan AAC)

Nancy Corrie (Harmeny AC); Eilidh Dallas (Strathearn Harriers); Matilda Frew (East Kilbride AC); Corrie McGougan (Falkirk Victoria Harriers); Holly Simpson (Giffnock North); Cerys Wright (Lasswade AAc)
We make it now fewer than 13 different clubs represented across these teams – with six athletes from Giffnock North AC and three from Kilbarchan AAC showing the strength in these age groups at those two clubs.
With four teams of six athletes across the U15 and U17 age groups, there’s a great chance for young Scots to experience the landmark event.
Selections were based on the recent Young Athletes Road Races at Greenock, where the top four in each age group were picked automatically – with two other places at the discretion of our panel of selectors.
Congratulations to all the athletes selected and to their coaches and families as well as the clubs for all their hard work in helping on the development…
