Relay Team Posts Top-5 Mark at Texas Relays


AUSTIN / PALO ALTO – The Utah track & field team closed out a busy weekend with the 4x400m relay team posting a top-5 mark at the Texas Relays on Saturday at Mike A. Myers Stadium.
 
Utah’s crew of Ally Gomm, Harley Daniel, Bailey Kealamakia and Josefine Eriksen teamed up to run the third-fastest time in program history with a run of 3:36.44 on Saturday at the Texas Relays. Eriksen made up ground for the Utes in the final 400m stretch, running a split of 51.47 to move Utah up four spots.
 
Over in the west at the Stanford Invitational, Brooke Manson made her season debut in smashing form by winning her heat of the 800m race with a run of 2:06.18 – which was the fastest mark by any Ute on Saturday. Freshman Kyla Martin bested her previous personal record with a run of 2:07.98 to take third in the same heat as Manson. Bri Rinn also posted a new PR after she ran a 2:08.59 in her heat of the event.
 
UP NEXT

The Women of Utah now return home to host the annual Utah Spring Classic next Saturday, April 6, at the McCarthey Family Track & Field Complex. The first track event is scheduled to begin at NOON (MDT) with the 5000m race. Utah will also compete in the Weber State Spring Open on Friday before hosting its lone meet and honor its 13 seniors.
