Jassani Carter won the women’s 100m dash and Johnnie Blockburger placed second in the men’s 400m race to lead USC during the final day of the Florida Relays held at James G. Presley Stadium in Gainesville, Fla. today (March 30).
- Jassani Carter won the women’s 100m dash with a wind-aided personal best of 11.19 (+2.3w). Christine M. Mallard was right behind her, taking second with a wind-aided personal best of 11.29 (+2.3w).
- Johnnie Blockburger placed second in the men’s 400m with a time of 45.38.
- Jan’Taijah Jones placed third in the women’s 400m race with a time of 51.59. Takiya Cenci was seventh in the 400m with a collegiate-best time of 53.42.
- The men’s 4x100m relay team of Jacob Andrews, Max Thomas, JC Stevenson and Johnnie Blockburger placed fourth with a time of 39.55.
- Lauren Reed placed fifth in the women’s triple jump with a PR of 42-2.75/12.87m (+0.0).
- The women’s 4x400m relay team of Takiya Cenci, Jan’Taijah Jones, Jassani Carter and Christine Mallard placed fifth in the Tom Jones College race with a season-best time of 3:31.57.
- JC Stevenson placed sixth in the men’s 100m dash with a PR of 10.30 (+0.3). Max Thomas took seventh in the 100m dash with a time of 10.32 (-0.3).
- Marne Sullivan had a PR of 2:04.59 in the women’s 800m to place ninth, eighth among the collegians. Sullivan moved into eighth on USC’s all-time women’s 800m list.
- Johnny Brackins Jr. had the top qualifying time in the men’s 110m hurdles prelims of 13.58 (+0.1), but did not compete in the final. Di’Niko Bates had a time of 13.87 (+0.1) in the prelims which was sixth, but he did not finish in the finals.
- Jalaysiya Smith placed seventh in the women’s 100m hurdles prelims with a time of 13.27 (+0.3), but did not start in the final.
- USC alum Kyra Constantine won the women’s 400m Olympic Development race with a time of 51.50.
The USC track and field team will next be in action at the Texas A&M 44 Farms Team Invitational in College Station, Texas on April 5-6.
