WALNUT, Calif. – The Illinois men’s and No. 4 women’s track and field teams finished the third day of the 64th annual Mt. SAC Relays on Friday (April 19). Junior Halle Hill rose up to third on the 1500m school leaderboard with a time of 4:15.86. This time is over a five second improvement from her previous-best time (4:20.99) and she placed fifth in the elite section today.
Senior Jack Roberts placed fourth in the 5000m elite section with the program’s fifth-best time (13:55.89) improving his personal best by nearly 22 seconds (14:17.44). Junior Sam Poglitsch broke the tape in the 1500m collegiate section with a time of 4:26.47.
Junior Jackson Marseille placed second in collegiate section A of the high jump with a hop of 2.12m (6-11 1/2). His teammate, junior CJ Shoaf, placed eighth in the same section clearing 2.02m (6-7 1/2).
Senior Tyle Sudduth placed eighth in the discus when he threw 54.54m (178-11). Freshman Jackson Gilbert placed 10th in the 400m with a time of 47.12 second which was .02 seconds away from a new personal best. Fellow freshman Asia Thomas did sprint a new personal-best 100m in her 22nd place finish (11.73).

The Orange and Blue track and field teams finish out the 64th Mt. SAC Relays on Saturday (April 20) with track events beginning at 2:15 p.m. and field events at 3:30 p.m. CT.
