WALNUT, Calif. – Freshman star Hana Moll broke the Mt. SAC Relays Meet Record in the women’s pole vault today as the Huskies finished up four days of action at Hilmer Lodge Stadium. Moll went 15-1 today, her third time in 2024 clearing at least 15 feet.
Washington also got impressive outings from Beatrice Asomaning, Nastassja Campbell, and Kaia Tupu-South to wrap up the busy weekend.
Jumps
Moll had not competed in three weeks, but got right back to business as she became the first Division I woman to go over 15 feet this outdoor season, clearing 15-1 on her first jump. She took three attempts at a potential PR of 15-6 ¼ but did not make that today.
Finishing in third-place in the women’s vault invite section was Campbell, who had an outdoor season-best make of 14-1 ¼ to move up into the top-15 in the NCAA this season. Sara Borton matched her outdoor season-best of 13-7 ¼ to tie for sixth.
Throws
First up this morning was Beatrice Asomaning, and she wasted little time making the first mark. On her first attempt in the hammer, Asomaning threw a seven-foot PR, going 197-2, moving up one spot on the Husky top-10 list to No. 2 all-time. Asomaning also had a 192-11 throw in round two that was also beyond her former personal-best.
School record-holder Kaia Tupu-South got back in action today for the first time since the indoor season ended. She opened up in the shot put today with a very solid mark of 53-4 ½.
Asomaning was back in the discus later in the afternoon. She had a best in that event of 170-9.
Last up was Jayden White in the men’s hammer throw. White had a couple fouls along with one legal mark of 211-9.
