USC’s Men’s & Women’s Teams Place Second At Pac-12 T&F Championships

USC athletes won 11 events on the final day led by two individual titles each by Jasmine Jones and Johnnie Blockburger to lead the Trojan men’s and women’s teams to a second-place finish at the Pac-12 Track & Field Championships at Potts Field in Boulder, Colo. today (May 12).  The USC men scored 141 points and the women’s team 136, 122 on the final day.  It was the second consecutive season that both the men’s and women’s teams took second at the Pac-12 T&F Championships.

The USC women won five of the nine events they competed in today, while the men’s team won six of the 10 events it competed in on the final day of the three-day championships.  The combined 277 points scored by the USC track and field program were more than any other conference school by 44 points (Oregon 233 total combined points).

Johnnie Blockburger was named Outstanding Male Athlete of the Meet as he accounted for 22.5 points, winning the 200m, 400m and anchoring the winning 4x100m relay.  Blockburger has won eight conference titles in his career.

  • The women’s 4x100m relay team of Christine M. Mallard, Madison Whyte, Samirah Moody and Jassani Carter got the running portion of the meet started by winning the conference title with a time of 42.87, which ranks seventh on USC’s all-time list.  Carter made up a 2-3 meter deficit on the anchor leg to lead the Trojans to their first 10 points of the day.  USC won the event for the 17th time, most by any Pac-12 school.
  • The men’s 4x100m relay of Travis Williams, Max Thomas, JC Stevenson and Johnnie Blockburger then cruised to the title with a time of 38.84. It was the Trojans’ fourth consecutive win in the event and 20th all-time, most by any conference school.
  • Jasmine Jones captured her second Pac-12 100m hurdles title as she won and tied a season best with a time of 12.86 (-2.4) today.  A Trojan has won the event five times in the last six meets and USC’s 14 titles are tied for the most by any conference school.  Jalaysiya Smith finished fourth in the event with a time of 13.37 (-2.4) and Simone Ballard was sixth with a time of 13.52 (-2.4).  The trio earned the Trojans 18 points.
  • Johnny Brackins Jr. won the men’s 110m hurdles title with a time of 13.52 (-1.8).  He was second to teammate Tade Ojora in 2023 and a Trojan now has won…
