ATLANTA, Ga. – The Clemson Tigers officially wrapped up the 2024 ACC Outdoor Championships as the women were runner-up’s with 118.5 points to secure second place overall. On the men’s side, the Tigers scored 77.33 points to tab sixth place overall.
In total, five Tigers were crowned ACC Champions as Clemson recorded first-place finishes and gold medals in the women’s hammer. (Marie Forbes), men’s shot put (Courtney Lawrence), women’s 100m hurdles (Oneka Wilson), men’s 800 meters (Tarees Rhoden) and the women’s 800 meters (Gladys Chepngetich).
Along with the five gold medals, the Tigers earned an additional 14 medals with Clemson winning six silver medals and eight bronze medals.
For all-conference honors, Clemson had 15 Tigers earn First Team All-ACC and 10 Tigers named Second Team All-ACC.
MEET HIGHLIGHTS
- Nine Tigers recorded new personal bests in their events while both the men’s 4×100 relay and the 4×400 relay ran their best times of the season
- In the women’s discus, Marie Forbes secured a third-place overall finish with a throw of 55.99m to earn the bronze medal. Forbes earned two medals at the championships as she also secured the gold medal in the women’s hammer throw
- The men’s 4×100 relay team ran a season best time of 39.84 to secure third-place in the event
- The women’s 4×100 relay team earned a third-place finish with a time of 43.72, which is the best time this season
- In the women’s 1500, freshman Gladys Chepngetich ran a personal best of 4:13.15 to secure second-place and secure the silver medal. The time moves Chepngetich to No. 2 all-time for Clemson in the 1500
- Oneka Wilson was crowned the 2024 ACC Champion in the women’s 100 meter hurdles as she ran a personal best of 12.87 which is the third fastest time in program history
- Antoinette Van Der Merwe ran 13.42 in the women’s 100 meter hurdles to secure fourth place and be tabbed Second Team All-ACC
- D’Andre Anderson secured two individual medals as he earned the silver medal in both the men’s 400 (45.37) and the 200 meters (20.58)
- Ken’Naria Gadson also earned two individual medals as she took home the bronze in both the 400 meters (52.51) and the 400 meter hurdles (57.37)
- In the women’s 400 meters, Courtney Williams secured a sixth place overall finish to be named Second Team All-ACC. Jodi Ann Dixon was also named Second Team All-ACC for her fifth place finish in the women’s 400 meter hurdles
