Ten Terps Headed to NCAA First Round


COLLEGE PARK, MD – The Maryland track and field team will send 10 student-athletes to the NCAA East First Round in Lexington, Kentucky, the most the school has had since 2021. These student-athletes qualified for the first round by being in the top-48 marks in the region in their respective events. The list of participants and the events they will be competing are as follows:

Jeff Kline – Shot Put

Kayla Thorpe – Javelin

Jayla Bynum–  Shot Put

Mekhi Abbott – Javelin

Andrew Harmon – Hammer

Tolu Akinduro – Triple Jump

Eric Albright – 800m

Morgan Graham – Discus

Anna Coffin – 1500m

Kevin Collins–  200m

Discus thrower Rhys Allen would have qualified as well, but was forced to withdraw due to injury. 

Competiton at the NCAA East First Round will begin on May 22nd.
