ON THE STARTING BLOCK
The seven participants that Utah is sending is the most it has qualified for the championships in program history. Meanwhile, Utah’s 4x400m relay team will also make history when it takes the track becoming the first relay squad to compete for Utah on the national stage. Meanwhile, this is just the second time the Women of Utah have had three or more student-athletics compete at the NCAA Championships (2023).
All but one of the seven participants will be competing at the NCAA Championships for the first time with Josefine Eriksen the long Ute that has previously competed there. The senior last ran at the championships back in 2022 in the 800m event. This will be the fourth time in program history the Utes have had someone compete in the 800m event at the championships.
Erin Vringer will be making her debut at the finals in the 1500m this week and is the second-straight Canadian for Utah to qualify for the championships in that event. It will also be the fifth time a Ute has ran in the 1500m event at the championships.
Last, but not least, Harley Daniel will make her debut at the championships as well when she competes in the 400m hurdles and will be the seventh time Utah has had someone compete in that event.
