EUGENE, Ore. – Brianna Smith made her NCAA Outdoor Championship debut on Friday, taking the track for the first half of the women’s heptathlon. The senior currently sits in 13th place after totaling 3,444 points through the first four events of the multis competition.
Smith’s day was highlighted by a pair of ninth-place finishes in the high jump and 200m – the latter coming via a personal-best mark of 24.54 seconds. Over in the high jump, The Elkins Park, Pa., product leapt over the first three high jump heights she faced on her first attempt before bowing out with a final clearance of 1.75m (5-8.75 feet).
