COLUMBIA, Mo. – Nine University of Missouri track and field athletes will compete in the United Sates Olympic Trials beginning Friday on the NBC family of networks. The entirety of the competition will run June 21-30.
Current Tigers Skylar Cicciolini, Erin Zimmerman, Mitch Weber, Euphenie Andre will all be in action in addition to program alums Karissa Schweizer, Gabi Jacobs, Avery Carter, Kaia Harris and Arianna Fisher.
Competing in the javelin, Cicciolini earned first-team All-American for the second consecutive season in 2024. With an impressive season-best throw of 55.06m, she achieved a sixth-place finish at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon, her third appearance in the last four years.
Zimmerman placed fourth in javelin at the 2024 SEC Outdoor Track and Field Championships with a throw of 52.94m. Earlier this year she won the event at the Yellow Jacket Invitational with a mark of 51.18m, propelling her to sixth on Mizzou’s all-time top-10 list in the event.
Weber completed his Tiger tenure with a fourth-place result in the discus at the title meet with a mark of 60.85m (199-7). Weber, a two time All-SEC First Team member, also earned a championship appearance in 2021. He threw a personal-best 60.99 (200-1) at the 2021 Mizzou Spring Opener.
Andre a two-time USTFCCCA All-America First Team honoree wrapped up her collegiate triple jump career with a 16th-place result during NCAA Championships Round One (60.85m / 199-8) in May. Andre claimed the conference title in her senior season with a leap of 13.32m (43-8.5). The Dover Plains, New York native holds a personal best mark of 13.39m (43-11.25).
Former Tiger and three-time NCAA Outdoor First-Team All-American, Schweizer, returns to the USA trials in 2024 after claiming 11th in the 5k and 12th in 10k at the 2021 Olympics in Tokyo. She will be looking to punch her ticket to Paris in both events.
