The USC Track & Field program had another big day as TeeTee Terry qualified to represent USA at the Paris Olympics in the women’s 100m dash and Johnny Brackins Jr. advanced to the men’s long jump final to highlight the Trojans’ action during the second day of the 2024 U.S. Olympic Track & Field Team Trials held at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. today (June 22).  In addition, Kendall Ellis advanced to the women’s 400m final and Max Thomas advanced to the men’s 100m semifinal.  Both of those will be run tomorrow.

  • TeeTee Terry (USC, 2021) placed third in the women’s 100m dash final with a season-best time of 10.89 (+0.8) to qualify for the U.S. Olympic Team.  To advance to the women’s 100m final, an athlete had to finish top two in her semifinal heat earlier in the day or have one of the three next best times.  Terry advanced to the final on time by placing third in her women’s 100m semifinal heat with a time of 11.04 (-0.2).  Her time was fifth-best among the runners advancing to the final.  Celera Barnes (USC, 2022) just missed the cut, placing 10th with a time of 11.12 (+0.4).  Sophomore Jassani Carter was 19th with a time of 11.29 (-0.2) and Caisja Chandler (USC, 2023) was 25th with a time of 11.42 (-0.2).

  • Sophomore Max Thomas automatically advanced to the men’s 100m semifinal on Sunday with a time of 10.27 (+0.6).  The top five in each heat automatically advanced and he placed fifth in the second heat.  The men’s 100m semifinal will be run at 5:48 p.m.  Thomas was 25th among the qualifiers on time to the semifinal.
