On Saturday, July 6th, the British Milers Club Grand Prix at Birmingham University promises to be an electrifying event, featuring some of the most talented middle-distance runners from around the globe. With athletes from as far afield as the USA, France, Australia, Canada, Argentina, and Japan, as well as the top domestic talent, this is certainly one to watch!

 

The Men’s 800m A race will see a fierce contest among three standout athletes: England U20 indoor champion Henry Jonas, BUCS Indoor Bronze Medalist David Race, and England International William Rabjohns. These young athletes will battle a strong field over the two laps.

The women’s 800m A race is equally as exciting. Featuring GB U20 Ava Lloyd, who ran the World U20 qualifying time in Watford, England U20 silver medalist Indienne King, and Kaitlyn Ryan, who travels to Birmingham from the USA. 

The men’s 1500m A race is packed with international athletes, including Nicolas Medouni of France, Thomas Moorcroft of Australia and Riley Flemington of Canada. There’ll be challenged by a British contingent headed up by Loughborough International Gandy Mile Champion Samuel Charig and BMC GP Sportcity winner Max Wharton. 

The women’s 1500m A race is equally diverse with Ireland’s Georgie Hartigan, USA’s Melissa Tanaka and Japan’s Saki Kataghira all taking to the track. They’re joined by U17 Katie Pye, who has recently been selected for the European U18 Championships, BMC GP Loughborough winner Beth Morley, and Kate Axford, who finished 4th in the 5,000m at the UK Championships last weekend (29th & 30th June). The mix of young talent and experienced athletes will make this event particularly captivating.

The men’s 3000m A race features Watford 5,000m winner Tomer Tarragano, GB International Henry Dover, who competed at the World Cross Country Championships this year, and George Wheeler, who finished 2nd at the BMC Indoor Grand Prix in Sheffield. 

The women’s 3000m A race includes the international names of Paige Campbell of Australia and Carolina Lozano Argentina who are joined by Sophie Tarver, who finished third at the Loughborough International, and Poppy Tank, who finished 8th at the UK Indoor Championships.
