Green Breaks 800m Record In Ireland

SEATTLE – A summer European “race-cation” is ongoing for several Huskies past and present, and a few big results were turned in last night at the Morton Games in Dublin, Ireland. Nathan Green broke the UW 800-meter School Record while Sophie O’Sullivan and Chloe Foerster had season-best times in the 1,500-meters.

Green had won a mile just a few days prior in Cork, Ireland, in a time of 3:53.67, and then he dropped down in distance in Dublin. He took second overall in 1:46.23, breaking the longstanding 2006 School Record held by former NCAA Champion Ryan Brown, which was 1:46.29. Green also holds in the indoor School Record of 1:46.50.

O’Sullivan was second overall in the women’s 1,500-meters as she preps for the Paris Games. She ran the second-fastest time of her career, going 4:05.77. Foerster was close behind in sixth-place in 4:07.66, a new PR, three-tenths faster than she ran back in April.

Also in the men’s mile race, Joe Waskom and Luke Houser, recently turned pro, got in another effort. Waskom was fourth in 3:53.42, his fastest mile time in 2024. Houser was 13th in 3:59.48.
