Teenage sprinter Divine Iheme excels at England U15 and U17 Champs

National champs in Birmingham incorporated the England under-20 and senior open combined events from July 26-28 with Katarina Johnson-Thompson among the competitors

Divine Iheme was the star of these championships as the 14-year-old clocked a PB of 10.56 (0.7) to narrowly miss the world age best of 10.51.

The Radley sprinter also won the under-15 200m title in 21.63 (-1.0) to beat his own national age group record of 21.74.

Sammy Ball, who is still only 19, won the England senior decathlon title with a PB of 7776 just one year after claiming the under-20 national crown.

Similarly, Eden Robinson, who is only 17 and the daughter of international triple jumper Michelle Griffith, won the senior heptathlon with 5597.

Ahead of the Olympic Games, Katarina Johnson-Thompson also stretched her legs with a 13.54 (2.1) sprint hurdles and 1.81m high jump.

Elsewhere, Shiloh Omotosho won the under-17 women’s 300m in a swift 38.18, while Chu Ononogbu won the under-15 boys discus with 53.26m.
