Sun Devil Cross Country Returns to Action at UC Riverside Invite


TEMPE, Ariz. – After a three-week break, Sun Devil Cross Country returns to action this weekend for its second of four regular season meets at the UC Riverside Invite in Riverside, California, where more than a dozen schools will compete.

SCHEDULE IN RIVERSIDE

7:15 a.m. – Women’s 6000m Invitational 

7:50 a.m. – Men’s 8000m Invitational 

Both times listed in AZT.

LAST TIME OUT

The last time we saw the Sun Devils in action at the season-opening George Kyte Classic in Flagstaff, it was a pair of newcomers who made names for themselves in their collegiate debuts.

Judy Chepkoech paced the Women’s field with her winning time of 14:09.51 in the 2.5 mile run, earning her Big 12 Runner of the Week honors. Evaline Chepkoech wasn’t far behind, clocking in at 15:11.5 to place 13th overall.

Kristian Kimberlin led all Sun Devil Men, as his 23:43.2 effort in the 4.5 mile race placed him 17th overall.

The Sun Devil Women placed third, while the Men were fourth.
