The Lindsays Short Course XC event returns to Fife this winter – with the races in Kirkcaldy sure to be very popular.
Saturday 2 November is the date for diaries and online entries are now open.
Entry is by individuals or via your club and we are really keen to have big fields once again at Kirkcaldy.
The Lindsays Short Course XC has grown significantly over the past ten years or so and there were huge numbers involved last year at Lanark.
Senior races at this event are over 4k and include U20 athletes and Masters. These preceded on the day by the U15 races (over 2k) and the U17 races (over 3k).
National championship medals for individuals and for clubs are up for grabs as agreed by the Road Running and Cross Country Commission.
Here’s the race schedule for Saturday 2 November . . .
U15 Girls: Race starts 12 noon: 2k
U15 Boys: Race starts 12.20pm: 2k
U17 Women: Race starts 12.40pm: 3k
U17 Men: 13.05pm: 3k
Senior Women (includes U20, Masters): Race starts 1.30pm: 4k
Senior Men (includes U20, Masters, non-binary): Race starts 2pm: 4k
More points to note for the Lindsays Short Course XC . . .
*The venue is Kirkcaldy High School, Dunnikier Way, Kirkcaldy, KY1 3LR
*Closing date for entries is 5pm on Thursday 17 October. No late entries will be allowed.
*Athletes must be an in-date member of scottishathletics to compete.
*Individual medals are awarded to the first three in each category. Masters medals are awarded to the first three in each 10-year age band.
*Team Medals – Senior four to count, all other races 3 to count. There are no team medals for U20 or Masters teams.
