MADISON, Wis. – The No. 13 Wisconsin women’s cross country program is back in action on Saturday, Oct. 19 to host the Wisconsin Pre-Nationals at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course.
Six races are set to take place during Saturday’s slate, getting started with the Women’s “A” Race at 10:00 a.m. CT. Fans can gather more information about the meet times on our website with the link, here.
For this year’s Wisconsin Pre-Nationals, an admission ticket is $20, which includes a shuttle ride, and a parking permit is $5. One parking permit is required per vehicle and an admission ticket is required for each individual riding the bus. Spectators are encouraged to purchase parking and tickets in advance. All transactions, including on-site sales, will be cashless. Fans can purchase parking and tickets here.

1. LAST TIME OUT: Wisconsin took on the Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational a couple of weeks ago, placing 13th with a couple of standout individual performers. The Badgers were led by Leane Willemse, who finished in 18th place with her best run of the year—clocking in at 20 minutes, 11.2 seconds. Fellow senior Kylie Finger paced with Willemse early on and settled in at 43rd place, putting together another solid race in her 2024 campaign.
2. RANKED FOES: The Wisconsin Pre-Nationals are set to host some of the top teams in the nation on Saturday, especially on the women’s side. The top-5 programs will be making their way to Madison, including NAU, BYU, Washington, Notre Dame and NC State. In total, 19 ranked teams will be competing in the Women’s “A” Race to kick off the day on Saturday. Five of those programs are members of the Big Ten.
3. COVERING THE COURSE: After four meets this season, eight runners on the Badgers’ women’s squad have completed their 6Ks in under 21 minutes—leading to top-5 finishes as a team in the first three meets of the season. Lindsay Cunningham, the transfer out of Winona State University, has posted the quickest time on the team after placing first at the Big Ten Preview with a time of 19:54.4.
