Illinois Cross Country Concludes Regular Season at Pre-Nationals

MADISON, Wis. – The Illinois men’s and women’s cross country teams completed the regular season with Pre-Nationals on Saturday (Oct. 19) in Madison, Wis. Senior Halle Hill led the way for the Illini women with a sixth-place finish in the 6k on a time of 20:35.0. Junior Alex Partlow led the Illini men in the 8k with an 11th-place finish (24:16.4).

The men’s team placed second out of 25 teams with 148 points, their third top-3 finish this season. The women’s team placed eighth out of 28 teams with 256 points, their third top-10 team finish on the season.

Sophomore Avril Andre placed 18th (20:55.5) and senior Sam Poglitsch rounded out the Illinois women inside the top-25 with a 23rd-place finish (21:00.9). Graduate students Joshua Daggett placed 25th (24:25.2) and Stephen Moody placed 26th (24:25.6) to finish out the top-3 Illinois men finishers.
