The 2024 Cross Country season is here!
Monday is an easy day!
Most of the 560,000 high school boys and girls in cross country were racing on Saturday.
Many ran a long run on Sunday.
So with this being Monday, it should be an easy day for most.
Alf Shrubb was one of the greatest distance runners in the early 19th century. Shrubb held 28 world records, including the hour run (11 miles, 1137 yards). Alf was an amateur from 1899 to 1905, and then, a pro from 1905-1912. He won 1000 of his 1800 races! He was so good, Alf Shrubb would race against relay teams to keep it competitive. He won the 1903 and 1904 International Cross country as an individual and a team title. Alf loved Cross Country!
