CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Director of Illinois track, field and cross country Petros Kyprianou announced the addition of Morgan Smalls from LSU on Wednesday (Oct. 23). She’s a three-time First-Team All-American with the most recent coming in the long jump at the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Championships where she placed sixth, 6.47m (21-2 3/4).
Prior to becoming an All-American that season she took home Second-Team All-SEC honors in the long jump at the 2022 SEC Outdoor Championships, 6.58m (21-7 1/4). In addition, she’s a three-time USTFCCCA First-Team All-American and seven-time USTFCCCA second-team All-American.
Her freshman year she competed at USC where she became a Pac-12 Champion in the high jump at the 2021 Pac-12 Outdoor Championships, 1.83m (6-0). She holds personal best marks of 1.91m (6-3) in the high jump, 6.58m (21-7 1/4) in the long jump and 13.17m (43-2 1/2) in the triple jump.
