MADISON, Wis. – The Notre Dame men’s cross country team took tenth place and the women’s cross country team placed 16th at the 2024 NCAA Championships, which took place at the Thomas Zimmer Cross Country Course in Wisconsin. Both teams were led by an individual All-American performance.

WOMEN’S RACE

The Irish placed 16th and were paced by an All-American effort by Erin Strzelecki’s 37th place finish. The graduate student ran a solid 20:02.9 at the 6k event to pace the squad and earn her second consecutive All-American accolade by virtue of her top-40 finish.

Siona Chisholm and Mary Bonner Dalton finished back-to-back for the Irish in 81st and 82nd to earn 60 and 61 points, respectively. Chisholm turned in a 20:26.9 while Dalton crossed the finish line in 20:27.1. Gretchen Farley ran a 20:46.2 for 141st and 109 points toward the team total. Reagan Riley wrapped up the official scoring efforts with a 21:12.9 for 206th and 169 points.

Emily Covert posted a 21:18.0 to place 214th, and Isabel Allori ran a 21:35.2 to finish 233rd.

MEN’S RACE

The Irish claimed tenth place and were led by Izaiah Steury’s All-American performance of 24th place (22 points) with a personal record time of 29:17.1 in the 10k race.

Ethan Coleman posted a time of 29:30.6 to place 46th (40 points). Drew Griffin and Daelen Ackley were both below the 30-minute threshold with times of 29:51.1 and 29:55.5, respectively. Griffin placed 90th (76 points) while Ackley claimed 99th (83 points). CJ Singleton closed out the team score with a 30:11.7 for 143rd place and 116 points.

Carter Solomon ran a 30:22.6 to place 163rd, and Robbie Cozean was 173rd in a time of 30:28.2 for the Irish.
