MADISON, Wis. – Florida Gators Women’s Cross Country ended their 2024 campaign with a 12th-place finish at the NCAA Championship race at the Zimmer Cross Country Championship Course in Madison, Wis. on Saturday.
Hilda Olemomoi, the NCAA South Region Champion, finished third in the Championship field with a time of 19:28.7, capping a stellar season on the grass and leading the Gators’ efforts in Madison. She finishes her season finishing no lower than third at any of the Gators races this season.
SEC Newcomer of the Year, Beth Morley, ended her debut season in Orange and Blue with a 108th place finish. Throughout the campaign, Morley established herself as one of the most productive runners in the conference in her first Cross Country season in the U.S.
Tia Wilson (63rd), Allison Wilson (116th), and Caroline Wells (174th) rounded out the Gators’ scoring. Allison Wilson, in her final Collegiate Cross Country race, scored 88 points at the National title bout, as the lone holdover to race from the Gators’ 5th-place team finish last season.
Reagan Gilmore returned to action for the Gators, finishing 179th in Madison with a time of 21:01.6. She finishes her first season having competed in two races, and earning SEC Freshman of the week for her performance at the Gans Creek Classic during the regular season.
Another Freshman, Gabrielle Schmidt, Finished 208th with a time of 21:14.0 on Saturday. The highly touted prospect from Brisbane, Australia, shined in her first season in Gainesville and figures to be a crucial member of the Gator team alongside Gilmore for years to come.
Caroline Wells, perhaps one of the team’s most consistent runners this season, ended her excellent Sophomore season with a 174th-place finish and 20:58.8 time on Saturday.
