CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – A total of 14 of the 18 Atlantic Coast Conference indoor track & field programs will open their 2024-25 seasons at 10 meets around the country this weekend.
The action opened on Thursday, December 5, at the Liberty Kick-Off in Lynchburg, Virginia, hosted by Liberty. The women’s pentathlon and men’s heptathlon opened the season and will be followed by track and field events on Friday, December 6. Virginia and Duke made the trip to Lynchburg to open their 2024-25 campaigns.
Boston College, Clemson and Notre Dame will each host meets this weekend to open the slate. Boston College will host the Early Bird Invite, while Notre Dame will host the Blue-Gold Invite. Both will be the only ACC teams competing in their respective meets. Clemson will also welcome Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech to Clemson, South Carolina, for the Clemson Opener.
On Friday, Syracuse will travel to Ithaca, New York, for the Greg Page Relays, while Pitt will head to Youngstown, Ohio, for the Youngstown State Icebreaker.
Eight ACC teams will compete at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener, hosted by Boston University, on Saturday, December 7. In addition to hometown Boston College, the meet will feature Georgia Tech, Louisville, North Carolina, NC State, Notre Dame, Stanford and Wake Forest from the ACC.
Also on Saturday, Wake Forest will travel across Winston-Salem, North Carolina, for the Winston-Salem College Kick-Off. The Demon Deacons will be joined by NC State for Saturday’s meet before competing in the JDL Early Bird Invitational, also in their hometown of Winston-Salem.
