KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The 2024-25 track & field season kicks off Saturday in Boston as graduate transfer Aaron Jones makes his Tennessee debut on the oval at the Sharon Colyear Danville Season Opener. The former Milligan standout will run in Section 7 of the men’s 5,000-meter at approximately 8 p.m. inside the Boston University Track & Tennis Center.
A native of Johnson City, Tennessee, Jones recently rounded out his first cross country campaign for the Vols and was part of UT’s scoring lineup at the SEC and NCAA South Region Championships. He placed 44th and 28th at those postseason events, respectively, with personal-best marks at the 8k and 10k distances.
Saturday’s meet will be streamed live on FloTrack, and live results will be provided by Lancer Timing.
The Tennessee track & field program will return to action after the holiday break, ramping up with a pair of competitions during the second weekend of January. The McFerrin 12 Degree Invitational at Texas A&M will take place Friday, Jan. 10, followed by the Clemson Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 11.
