Scottish ultra running is once again celebrating global medal success.
Chris Richardson and Dougie Selman were part of the team effort at the GB and NI men took bronze medals at the World 100k Champs.
Conditions were tough to say the least in Bengaluru in India with the temperature around 25 degrees despite the early morning start.
The British team coped well however and there were top ten finishes from Alex Milne at seventh and Jarlath McKenna at ninth place.
Metro Aberdeen athlete Chris has the better day of the two Scots with a 6:56:16 performance which won him 16th place. Chris had been training in a sauna in the Scotland’s north-East to try and replicate the conditions in India.
Dougie, who won the Anglo Celtic Plate back in March, had put in similar preparation but had a tough day to clock 7:22:48 and take 29th place in the event.
It was a first GB and NI championships for both Chris and Dougie after years of hard work in our sport and we send our warm congratulations to both and their families, coaches and support teams.
