This writer met Josh Kerr quite by accident in the summer of 2017. Josh had hoped to be part of the British team in 2017, but he was not selected. I met Josh and his parents and told him that while I was an American, I was not a stalker. He smiled. I also told him that they would make British teams in the future and that the selectors had been quite a pain for many British stars in their formative years.
Josh now has two Olympic medals: bronze in Tokyo 2020 (2021) and silver in Paris 2024. He won the World Outdoor 2023 in 1,500 meters in a brilliant battle against Jakob Ingebrigtsen in Budapest. In 2024, in front of his Scottish fans, Josh became the World Indoor gold medalist in the 3,000 meters in Glasgow, almost taking the roof out with the screaming of his countrymen.
Josh Kerr is a global phenomenon. Kids love his story from across the world. Coaches are fascinated by his relationship with Danny Mackey and how they have built Josh’s confidence, racing prowess, and value to the Brooks brand since 2018.
Kerr will race as long as he wants and be a Brooks ambassador, encouraging the next generation, helping coaches understand world-class racing, and working closely with Brooks to build great products and further the Brooks brand.
This is a win-win for Brooks and Brooks Beasts.
We wish Josh Kerr, Danny Mackey, and Brooks Beasts well.
Congrats to Garrett Heath and Dan Sheridan for putting this package together.
(Well done, Ray Flynn).

Working alongside such a talented team of coaches and athletes has not only helped me become the athlete I have always aspired to be but also allowed us to create the best gear to elevate performance. I am pumped for the journey ahead and the continued success we will achieve together.”
