NEW ORLEANS – The Utah cross country team garnered USTFCCCA (U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association) All-Academic Team accolades for the 12th-straight season with a team GPA of 3.789 while Morgan Jensen, Anna Peters and Erin Vringer earned individual honor.
Utah’s cumulative team GPA of 3.789 was tops among Big 12 programs. Head coach Kyle Kepler‘s teams have now earned team all-academic honors in 18 of the 20 years he’s been on the Hill.
This is the third-consecutive season Utah has had three individuals earn all-academic recognition from the USTFCCCA and marked the first time it has happened in program history.
Jensen and Peters earned their second-straight all-academic team honors while Vringer collected her first all-academic award.
In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-25 (or 10 percent) at the NCAA Regional Championships or as an All-American at the NCAA Championships.
