PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers senior pole vaulter Chloe Timberg was named the Big Ten Field Athlete of the Week, following her performance at the Scarlet Knights Open on January 31. It marks the second Big Ten weekly honor of her career and first indoor award.
Timberg was also named the Co-National Athlete of the Week by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association on February 3.
The awards come after a record-setting performance in which Timberg improved on her indoor school record, clearing 4.72m (15′ 5.75″). The height was a Big Ten record and ranks No. 2 in the NCAA all-time.
The mark currently leads the NCAA and is No. 1 in the world rankings in 2025. Timberg will have a chance to defend her Big Ten Indoor Championship when the Scarlet Knights travel to Indianapolis on February 28.
Rutgers will next compete at the Crimson Elite on the Harvard campus on Friday, February 7 and the Scarlet & White Invite on Saturday, February 8 in Boston. Timberg will return to The Armory for the Millrose Games on Saturday.
