Rogers Sets Top-Five Men’s Indoor Mile Time in Program History at Missouri Invitational


COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri track and field concluded its homestand with the Missouri Invitational on Friday at Hearnes Center Fieldhouse, headlined by Drew Rogers, who entered the program’s top-10 list in the men’s mile. 

The junior’s time of 4:02.30 in the event now sits fifth in school history, marking the first time this season a Tiger set a top-10 school record in the event. 

In addition to Rogers’ record, nine personal bests were set at Mizzou’s final of five home meets in 2025. Finn Russell joined Rogers in setting a new top time on Friday, taking third place in 4:04.82. On the women’s side, Elissa Barnard also claimed an indoor mile result with her time of 5:05.82, a new best.

Missouri took the top spots in the men’s and women’s weight throw and shot put.

Redshirt junior Sam Innes finished in first with 21.78m (71-5.5) in the men’s weight throw. Innes was joined by Garik Pozecki, recording a throw of 19.58m (64-3) and Clayton Kamp’s 17.91m (58-9.25) for a trio of top-five finishes. 

The top five for women’s weight throw was filled with Tigers, led by Ames Burtonwho achieved a record of 18.46m (60-6.75). Second-place finisher Reagan Kimrey’s result of 18.35 (60-2) and third-place Delilah Pippen’s 16.51m (54-2) joined Burton to fill the top-three finishers, with Kimery and Pippen’s results also marking career bests.

 


UP NEXT 

Mizzou will compete in its final two regular season meets on Feb. 14 and 15 with the Valentine Invitational hosted by Boston University and the Tyson Invitational hosted by Arkansas.
