Sun Devil Men and Women’s Track & Field Earn Fourth-Place Finishes at Stacked New Mexico Collegiate Classic


ALBUQUERQUE – Sun Devil Track & Field concluded a fantastic showing at the stacked New Mexico Collegiate Classic with a pair of fourth-place finishes, outdoing some of the top teams in the nation across two days of action at the Albuquerque Convention Center.

The field in the Land of Enchantment featured 15 Men’s and Women’s programs ranked in the top-25 and 24 programs listed within the top-50. The Sun Devils proved themselves worthy as one of those top rankings, as both the Men’s and Women’s placed fourth overall.

The Sun Devils got off to a rousing start on Friday, finishing with the Women in first with 56 points and the Men trailing just USC with 34 points. They used a trio of titles and eight top-three finishes to spring up the leaderboard.

On Saturday, they were powered by the individual efforts of Jayden Davis (4th/400m) and Tiera Robinson-Jones (6th/triple jump), among others, plus the Men’s 4×400 of Davis-Josiah AndersonMalik FranklinTrevin Moyer who finished second.

Davis’ 45.94@ in the 400m, good for fourth overall in Albuquerque, was also a new Indoor PB, a top-five time in team history and a top-10 time in the NCAA this season.
