Rosenberg Notches Top 5 Finish

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Commodores wrapped up their weekend at the SEC Indoor Championships on Sunday with three scoring performances, a school record and six program all-time top 10 marks.

“We had several people step up, put their imprint on Vanderbilt history and leave a legacy, some seniors and some underclassmen,” director of cross country and track and field Althea Thomas said. “It shows where we’re going to go in a conference that is the best in the NCAA and at the best indoor track and field meet in the world.”

Marta Sivina started off the day for the Dores with a 1.73-meter clearance in the high jump. Her mark is 7 centimeters higher than her personal best heading into the weekend.

In the mile, Julia Rosenberg came in fifth place with a time of 4:41.47 to score for Vandy.

“I think one of the best representations of what it means to Anchor Down is in Julia Rosenberg,” Thomas said. “She ran three miles over the span of three days and in each one, competed so hard to put our team in a place to score in the DMR, qualifying in the mile prelims and then running a courageous mile final. She embodies what is means to be a Commodore from her growth over the last four years and how she represents us every day.”

Sarah Marvin posted a season best 14.84-meter throw to finish 16th in the shot put.

Ellie Wolski turned in a three-second PR to finish fourth in her heat and 16th overall. Her time of 9:31.06 is No. 6 in Vanderbilt history.

Additional scorers for Vandy include Sivina and Devyn Parham in the pentathlon and the distance medley relay team of Audrey Allman, Allyria McBride, Wolski and Rosenberg. Sivina placed fourth with a score of 4,174 points, No. 2 all-time at Vanderbilt, while Parham totaled 3,963 points to place seventh and move to fourth in school history. The Commodore distance medley relay broke the school record with a time of 11:13.61, placing seventh.

“We have an amazing freshman class and to have Devyn to come in her freshman year, her second time doing a pentathlon, and in every single event, put her best foot forward, PRing in three of five events. It just says a lot about her as an athlete and her adaptation. It says a lot about the coaches she works with—Coach Justin Byron and Coach Harold Rose. And it also says a lot about the future of our program. She’s been able to learn from someone like Marta, someone who’s experienced, but again, in her first year competing indoors for Vanderbilt. She…
