PITTSBURGH– Track athletes Je’Nyia Burton and Nigel Hussey have been named PNC Achievers of the Week after their impressive performances at the ACC Indoor Championships.
Je’Nyia Burton claimed the second indoor individual ACC championship in the women’s program history with her victory in the 400-meter race. With a time of 51.82, Burton set personal, school, and Norton Healthcare facility records en route to the gold medal. She currently holds the 16th fastest time in the country and will compete against the top collegiate athletes in the U.S. at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships later this month.
In addition to her success in the 400-meter race, Burton finished fifth in the 200-meter race with a time of 23.39, also a school record. To cap off the meet, Burton helped the women’s 4×400 relay team to a sixth-place finish with a time of 3:36.48.

Shortly thereafter, Hussey competed in the 200-meter race, where he finished fourth with a time of 20.86, another personal best.
