The Terps opened up the outdoor season with three event wins and two all-time top 10 performances with a pair of Terps qualifying for final rounds tomorrow at Day 1 of the River City Relays.
Andrew Harmon won the hammer throw with marks of 59.75m.
Fin Essley took the top spot in the men’s discus at 46.42m and also placed second in the hammer throw with marks of 59.02m, putting himself at fifth all-time in program history.
Roman Spikes (10.71) and Tanner Leach (10.87) both qualified for the men’s 100 meter final as they finished first and third respectively in the preliminary round.
Katerina Talanova dominated in the women’s 800m with a time of 2:08.81, placing herself in the record books with the seventh best all-time in program history.
In the men’s 800m, Eric Albright won with a time of 1:50.61. He was followed by Jack Barchet who came in second at 1:51.84.
Competition continues tomorrow with day 2 of the River City Relays at 8:00 AM.
