Badgers show well in day one of USF Bulls Invite


TAMPA, Fla. – The Wisconsin track and field program was paced by Emma Kelley on the first day of the USF Bulls Invite in the Sunshine State, as the senior turned in the seventh-fastest time in the 800 meters in UW’s outdoor track history. 

Kelley covered the distance in 2 minutes, 3.89 seconds, good for first place amongst 43 competitors down in Tampa to kick off her 2025 outdoor track campaign. 

Giovanni Wearing finished the 400 hurdles in 53.33 seconds, placing 13th. In the women’s race, Karina Janik earned 16th place with a time of 1:01.11. 

To round out the day for the Badgers, Landon Gallun took 50th in the 200 meters—completing the race in 21.80 seconds. 

Up Next: The Badgers will be back in action Saturday morning on day two of the USF Bulls Invite, as the meet’s events are set to begin at 10:00 a.m. CT.
