AUSTIN, Texas – Washington State freshman Erik Larripa Taxell moved up four places on the final day of the decathlon to finish 15th Thursday at the Texas Relays, held at Mike A. Myers Stadium.
After finishing 19th following Wednesday’s five events, Larripa Taxell improved to 15th at the completion of Thursday’s final five events. He finished fifth in the field in the javelin throw, throwing a distance of 54.05 meters, earning himself 649 points. He also finished eighth in the 1500-meter race with a time of 4-minutes, 35.55 seconds.
Cougar athletes will continue to compete at the Texas Relays and Bobcat Invitational tomorrow morning.
