SPOKANE, Washington — Washington State head 75 miles north to Spokane for the Jeff Rahn Classic at Boppell Track. Cougar athletes will look to add to their successful spring season by adding more victories and breaking more records this weekend in Spokane.

Last Time Out – Stanford Invitational/ Whitworth Peace Meet (April 4-5)
It was a record-breaking weekend for the Cougs at the Stanford Invitational and Whitworth Peace Meet. Rosemary Longisa and Zenah Cheptoo each broke school records while Evans Kurui broke the 10000m meet record. Longisa started things off Friday evening in Stanford by breaking Jennifer Robertson’s 32-year-old record in the 1500m, running 4:13.59. Cheptoo shattered WSU’s record in the 10000m, finishing fifth overall in a time of 32:23.18. Freshman Kai Twaddle-Dunham started the Cougs day in Stanford with an impressive discus throw of 57.09 meters to finish first. Nevaeh Wilson captured the women’s discus in Spokane, set her winning throw of 45.38 meters on her third attempt after fouling on her second. Laura Linquist started things off as she captured first in the women’s hammer throw, reaching a personal-best of 51.09m (167′ 7″), winning the event by more than 13 feet over the second-place finisher.
