COLUMBIA, S.C. (April 12, 2025) – South Carolina Track & Field concluded it outdoor home season on Saturday afternoon, taking home 15 wins in the Gamecock Invite at the Sheila & Morris Cregger Track.
The men’s team was responsible for 10 wins in the home finale, including six on the track. The men’s 400 meter stole the show as Jasauna Dennis, Josiah Wrice and Devan Crumpton finished 1-2-3, respectively. Dennis ran a new personal best 45.94 for the win, finishing eighth in the NCAA East Region and posted the seventh fastest time in program history. Wrice set a new personal best, clocking 46.02 for the eighth fastest time in Gamecock history and the ninth best time in the region. Crumpton just missed out on a top 10 program time but was able to run the 12th best time in the East Region after stopping the clock at 46.17.
Ricky Circelli, Marcellus Mines and Sam Kolowith handled business of their own, turning in wins in the 600m, 1500m and the 5000m. Circelli posted a win in the rare 600m, running 1:19.12, while Mines registered a time of 3:58.11 for the victory in the 1500m. Kolowith posted a new personal best in the 5K, crossing the finish line in 14:38.82.
The final two wins on the track for the men came from Elijah Poore in the 3000-meter steeplechase and the men’s 4×100 meter relay. Poore was able to walk away with the win, running 9:37.95 for a new personal best. The relay quartet of Antwan Hughes, Wrice, Dennis and Anthony Greenhow secured a time of 39.83 to rank 30th in the East Region.
South Carolina men capped off the home event with four wins in the high jump, triple jump, pole vault and the javelin. Nate Figgers won his second home high jump event of the season, clearing 2.11m (6-11) for the triumph. Meanwhile in the triple jump, Theo Mudzengerere made his outdoor season debut and was victorious after jumping a distance of 16.01m (52-6.5) for the fourth best triple jump in the East Region. Parker Samuelson registered the top spot in the men’s pole vault after clearing a new outdoor personal best height of 4.87m (15-11.75), while Ellis Neighbors (61.00m/200-1) won his first career javelin event after edging out teammate Jalen Barry (59.62m/195-7).
The women’s team secured five wins on the day, with four coming in the track and one on the field. JaMeesia Ford continued her collegiate dominance after running a personal best 100 meter time of 11.06 (1.4) in the finals, coming away with the gold medal as well as the third fastest time…
