COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Notre Dame track and field team competed in the 44 Farms Team Invitational hosted by Texas A&M over the weekend.
Jadin O’Brien led the way and finished second in the heptathlon with a score of 6231. She posted a personal-best 43.54m in the javelin to finish first among heptathlon athletes. O’Brien also finished first in the 100m hurdles, shot put, and 800m components of the heptathlon competition. Alaina Brady took fifth in the heptathlon with a 5451. Maya Collins finished tenth in the 100m with an 11.48.
On the men’s side, Eli Meder took ninth place in the 800m with a 1:50.60 while Jake Shumaker added a tenth-place finish with a 1:50.64. Luke Himes was tenth in the shot put with a 17.98m effort on the day.
Next up for the Irish are the Bryan Clay Invite in Azusa, California and the Wake Forest Invite in Winston-Salem, North Carolina next weekend.
