CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – University of Missouri track and field capped off day one of the Virginia Challenge on Lannigan Field on Friday.

The day was highlighted by Alicia Burnett and Drew Rogers, both claiming school records.

In the 100m, Burnett started off the day with 11.27 and 11.23 times in the prelims and finals respectively. Three additional Tigers joined Burnett and Rogers in the record books on the meet’s opening day. Steven Marks now stands seventh in Mizzou history in the 100m, running 10.27 in the finals and earning a third-place finish. Elijah Limo marked a time of 8:53.23 in the 3000m steeplechase, a first-place finish, locking the freshman in at eighth all-time in school history. Freshman Monica Wanjiku earned a second-place finish with a time of 15:40.79 on the 5000m invite, which places her second in program history.
