Cougar Classic Set to Begin Friday


PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State Track & Field hosts its lone home track and field meet of the year at Mooberry Track this weekend. Admission to the event is free for spectators with events starting at 3:00 pm on Friday afternoon.
 
Colleges competing against the Cougars will include Eastern Washington, Idaho, Lewis-Clark State (Idaho) and Spokane CC.
 
Friday’s field events will include triple jump and discus with track events including the 200, 3000 steeplechase, and 5000-meter races.
 
Saturday will hold a bulk of the events starting with the Javelin at 10 a.m. and ending with the 4×400 relays at 4:15 pm.

Last Time Out – Bryan Clay/Pacific Coast/Whitworth Twilight

Washington State Track and Field freshman Caroline Jepkorir broke the WSU school record in the 3000m Steeplechase Wednesday evening at the Bryan Clay Invitational. Cougar Track and Field student-athletes combined for four event wins and 15 personal bests across four events Thursday in California and Washington. This included victories by Duskin in the 110 hurdles, Evan Berg in the javelin, A.J. McGloflin in the high jump, and Nevaeh Wilson in the Discus. Evans Kurui finished with a third-best time in program history and Rosemary Longisa posted the sixth-best 800m time in WSU history. Washington State Track & Field wrapped up a busy week in Southern California Friday as junior Laura Lindquist captured the javelin title the final day of the Beach Invitational.

Washington State will head to Corvallis to compete at the Oregon State meet, May 10-11.
