WSU Boasts 22 Bests to Conclude Cougar Classic


PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State track and field wrapped up the 2025 Cougar Classic with 17 event wins and 22 season bests or personal records. The Cougs recognized 15 seniors Saturday morning for their commitment and achievement to the program as student-athletes.
 
Mason Andulajevic started off the early morning at Mooberry Track & Field Complex with a second-place finish in the hammer throw. He started off strong on the first throw with a distance of 59.80 meters and improved that up on the third throw, going for 59.95 meters. His best throw of the morning came on the fourth with a distance of 60.63 meters, which secured his second place finish. Tristain Webb succeeded on his fifth throw, finishing in fifth with a distance of 49.89 meters. Henry Sheldrup rounded out the Cougs, finishing ninth, with a throw distance of 46.84 meters.
 
The Cougars dominated the men’s 100-meter dash with a podium sweep. Junior Mason Lawyer dominated the 100-meter dash with the 16th fastest time in Division-I, clocking a 10.19 – the third fastest time in program history – and a PR for the sprinter standout. Lawyer finished ahead of Bryson Stubblefield with a second-place time of 10.40, a season-best and the 82nd fastest time in the country. Keenan Kuntz delivered a season-best 10.51 to clinch third place for the Cougs.
 
Senior Luceris Suarez Pacheco takes home her second javelin throw win of the outdoor season with a distance of 45.30 meters. It only took her three attempts to reach that mark in which she blew out the rest of the field winning by 2 meters over her teammate Laura Lindquist. Lindquist finished with a distance of 43.21 meters, which she set on her fourth throw of the morning. Baylee Wroble rounded out the sweep of the podium for the Cougs with a distance of 42.78 meters. She wasted no time and set this distance on her first throw of the morning.
 
Grant Buckmiller delivered a new season best in the 400-meter with a 46.10, the 43rd fastest time in Division-I and 23rd-fastest time in the west region. Buckmiller clinched first ahead of WSU’s Royal Haley in third with a PR 46.22, 28th in the west and 57th in the country.
 
The men’s 4×100 relay team of Bryson Stubblefield, Mason Lawyer, Parker Duskin, and Keenan Kuntz set a season-best time for the Cougs, finishing first with a time of 39.26 seconds. Stubblefield started the race…
