COLUMBIA, S.C. (April 29, 2025) – South Carolina Track & Field freshman hurdler, Joslyn Hamilton, has been named this week’s SEC Women’s Freshman of the Week as announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.
Hamilton notched a pair of wins in three events at the Charlotte Invitational, while finishing runner-up in another race. The freshman hurdler opened the meet in the 100-meter hurdles and turned in a personal best time of 13.13 (1.5) to finish runner-up with the ninth best mark in Gamecock history. She then captured the podium in the 400-meter hurdle after crossing the finish line in a personal best time of 59.34. Hamilton closed out her weekend competition in the women’s 4×400 meter relay, running as the anchor leg that brought home the win with a mark of 3:35.38.
Hamilton and the rest of the Gamecocks will close out the outdoor regular season this weekend with the East Coast Relays in Jacksonville, Fla. The two-day meet will begin on Friday, May 2 and conclude on Saturday, May 3. The East Coast Relays will be held at the site of the NCAA East Regional later in the month of May.
