COLLEGE PARK, MD – The Maryland track and field team closes out the regular season on Friday night when the Terps host the annual Kehoe Twilight Meet at Kehoe Track and Field Complex. In addition to the meet, the Terps will also celebrate the 2025 Senior Class, hold a pre-meet Alumni Reception, run the Charles Torpey Alumni Mile, and hold a special recognition in honor of former head coach and Maryland’s 1965 high jump national champion Frank Costello.
Field events will begin Friday at 1 PM, while the track events will start at 5:30 PM. The Senior Day Ceremony is slated for 7 PM. final meet schedule
A peek at the scheduLe
- This will be the eighth meet of the outdoor season leading up to Big Ten Championships in Eugene, OR from May 16-18 and the NCAA Championships in Eugene, OR from June 11-14.
- Maryland will host two track meets at Kehoe Track & Field this season with the Maryland Invite on March 29 and the Kehoe Twilight Meet on May 2.
The Terps are set to compete in eight meets this year to prep for the Big Ten and NCAA Championships.
Penn Relays Recap
- Maryland had a strong showing last weekend at the Penn Relays with four new school records set as well as a number of performances that moved up the program’s all-time top 10 charts.
- On Thursday, Chioma Njoku in the hammer throw and Katie Turk in the 1,500 meters highlighted Maryland’s opening day of competition. Njoku placed second overall in the Championship division with a mark of 62.77 meters which was her third best throw of the season. Turk won her heat and placed 27th overall in the 1,500 meters championship with a time of 4 minutes, 22.07 seconds. That time set a new personal best and is the fifth-fastest time in program history.
- On Friday, A pair of school records fell as the Terps set new standards in the men’s distance medley relay as well as the women’s 4×400 meter relay. Maryland also saw three other all-time top 10 performances on the day.
