Rogers Looks to Extend Record Run Into Track & Field Postseason

COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri distance runner Drew Rogers is in the midst of a standout season for the track and field team, earning a conference title and breaking multiple school records during the 2025 campaign.

Rogers opened the indoor season with a personal-best mile time of 4:02.30 at the Missouri Invitational, a mark that ranks among the top 10 in program history. He followed that performance with a program-record 3000-meter run at the Tyson Invitational, becoming the first athlete in Mizzou history to break the eight-minute barrier in the event with a 7:56.00 standing.

At the Southeastern Conference Indoor Championship, Rogers delivered a conference title in dramatic fashion. In the final moments of the men’s 3000m, he surged late to win the race in 7:53.61, setting another school record and securing his first SEC title.

The win also earned him a spot on the All-SEC First Team and marked the first time a Mizzou athlete had earned the SEC championship in the 3000m since joining the conference.

Rogers carried his momentum into the outdoor season. At the Raleigh Relays, he set a new school record in the 10,000m with a time of 28:14.27. A few weeks later, he added another record to his name by running 13:41.63 in the 5000m at the Virginia Challenge, again setting a new Mizzou benchmark.

Rogers and the Tigers will now shift focus to the postseason, where he is expected to compete at the NCAA Regional and National Championships.
