SPOKANE, Wash. (May 7, 2025) — Sophomore Brooke Lyons captured wins in the women’s 100-meter and 200-meter races to highlight Washington State Track & Field during Wednesday’s Last Chance Meet hosted by Whitworth University. The Cougars put up a dominant overall performance with their 14 wins and another 10 on the podium. Three athletes put up personal bests and another two had season-best performances.
Lyons started off her afternoon with an impressive win in the 100-meter race, finishing with a time of 11.56 seconds. She was a tenth quicker than her teammate, Ashley Hollenbeck Willems, who finished in second place. Hollenbeck Willems set a personal best in the race, finishing with a time of 11.67 seconds, the eighth-fastest time in program history.
In the Women’s 200-meter Lyons took the top of the podium for the second time Wednesday, finishing with a time of 23.79 seconds. Zoe Ray also impressed, finishing second with a time of 24.80 seconds.
Sophomore Tatum Moku set a personal best and set the eighth-best pole vault height in NCAA Division 1 this season. Her height of 4.50 meters is the best of her collegiate career, indoor or outdoor, extending her previous outdoor school record of 4.37m. She hit the heights of 4.10m and 4.22m on her first attempt, while hitting 4.28m and 4.40m on her second attempt. She took no time in hitting her personal best height of 4.50 meters, only using her first attempt to do so.
Sarah Kovich set a personal best time of 14.77 seconds in the 100 meter hurdles, finishing in first for her first win of her 2025 outdoor season.
In the men’s high jump, AJ McGloflin set a season-best height of 2.12 meters, finishing in first place. He passed his first height of 2.00 meters on the first attempt and his height of 2.05 meters on his second attempt. On his season-best height, it only took him two attempts to pass the mark. Antoni Smith finished second in the event with a best height of 2.00 meters.
Additional event winners on the day include the men’s 4×100 relay team of Bryson Stubblefield, Mason Lawyer, Parker Duskin and Keenan Kuntz in a facility-record time of 39.39 seconds; John Paredes (13.96) in the 100-meter hurdles; Lawyer in the 100-meter (10.21); Eysias Banks (53.73) in the 400-meter hurdles; Eli Lawrence (15.49m) in the triple jump; Alexandra Gustavel (1.66m) in the women’s high…
