UT’s winning time in the 4×100-meter relay set a new collegiate lead for 2025 and shattered the school record that had stood for 23 years. The title was Tennessee’s 16th SEC crown in the men’s 4×100-meter relay and its first since 2007. Additionally, the Vols’ time of 38.20 now ranks as the sixth-fastest school record in NCAA history and set a University of Kentucky Track & Field Complex facility record.
Hinti’s title-winning performance was equally historic, taking down his own Moroccan National Record in the 400-meter hurdles with a personal-best clocking of 48.44 seconds. His mark is also the collegiate lead for 2025, sits second in school history and ranks Hinti as the third-fastest freshman in NCAA history. The UT rookie broke his own Tennessee freshman record and set the facility record at Kentucky en route to the Vols’ first 400-meter hurdles title since 1986.
Lady Vol true freshman Donna Douglas led off Saturday’s competition with a podium finish in the women’s discus, stealing bronze in the sixth round with her toss of 56.45m (185-2). The Jonesboro, Arkansas, native became UT’s first medalist in the discus at the SEC outdoor meet since Nayoka Clunis won silver in 2021.
SCORING PERFORMANCES: In addition to its three medal-winning marks on Saturday, the Big Orange posted 11 more top-eight performances to add to the team’s tally.
