Gamecocks Return to Jacksonville for NCAA East Regional – University of South Carolina Athletics

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (May 27, 2025) – South Carolina Track & Field returns to a familiar location for the NCAA East Regional in Jacksonville, Fla. The Gamecocks will begin the regional meet tomorrow, May 28 at the Visit Jax Track at Hodges Stadium.

Ticket Information
Fans that are interested in attending the event in Jacksonville can do so for a nominal fee. Tickets are $75 for adults and $55 for students, covering all four days. Single day tickets are available for purchase as well. For a full rundown of the tickets, please click the following link.

Meet Information
The NCAA East Regional consists of the top 48 marks in individual events, top 24 relay teams in the region and the top 24 multi-event athletes. Each individual track event, excluding distance, will be composed of a first round (Top 48), followed by the quarterfinals (best 24 after opening round). Once the quarterfinals have taken place, the top 12 will secure their spots in the 2025 NCAA Championship in Eugene, Ore. on June 11-14. Field events operate differently, with throws, long jump and triple jump each getting three attempts, while high jump and pole vault will keep competing until there are only 12 remaining athletes.

The relay events and distance events will each run one race with the top 12 advancing to the national championship in two weeks.

The men will compete on Wednesday and Friday, while the women will compete on Thursday and Saturday. For a full schedule of the NCAA East Regional, click here.

Gamecocks in Jax
The Gamecocks qualified for a total of 23 events at the NCAA Regional, with 12 events falling on the women’s side and 11 for the men.

There are 15 entries in 12 events for the women, led by JaMeesia Ford and Cynteria James who are individually entered into two events, while also being part of both the 4x100m and 4x400m relays. Ford leads the East Regional in the 200m with a time of 22.01, while ranking third in the 100m (11.02). Ford and James will also be joined by Jayla Jamison and Zaya Akins on both relays, while Jamison will run the 200m individually and Akins will take part in the 400m.
