Marcell Jacobs will be ready
ROME (ITA): Tokyo 100 m Olympic winner Marcell Jacobs says he will be ready for his debut: on June 17th in the 100 at the Nurmi Games in Turku (WACT Gold). “The injury from March is in the past. I haven’t pushed 100% yet, but I’m fine and I can do everything. I’m coming back to Turku because the date falls at the right time, there are two rounds and last year’s, when I ran 9″92, was a good experience. On the 20th I will compete in the Sprint Festival at the Marmi Stadium, in Rome and then I ‘ll work with the 4×100 towards the European Team Championships in Madrid.
From there I’ll be back training: most likely in Desenzano, ma own city in Italy as my group hasn’t decided where to stay yet. I’ll be back competing by the end of July. Thanks to Sani Brown, who trains with me in Jacksonville, I’ll be leaving for Japan and the Worlds by the end of August. The first part of the season showed an almost unbeatable Simbine and an excellent Bednarek. But the season will be very long and many have not yet shown up. My family will also come to Italy: my wife and our children have obtained the green card and can now travel freely. In Florida, in the future, I would like to open a business related to Italian cuisine”. From La Gazzetta dello Sport.
