JACKSONVILLE, FL – Today was the last day of the NCAA East First Round. The Terps completed the week with Chioma Njoku being the only Terp to qualify for NCAA Championships.
Today, Tolu Akinduro competed in the women’s triple jump with marks of 12.84m, a new PR for her to keep her at fourth all-time. She finished 15th in the event.
In the women’s discus, Morgan Graham finished in 17th with a throw of 51.48m. Graham also participated in the women’s hammer throw on Thursday, finishing with a throw of 53.90m.
The women’s 4×400 relay saw Sam Payne, Lydia Robling, Kami Joi Hickson, and Maya Valmon with a time of 3:38.10. They placed 22nd in the event.
On Thursday, Chioma Njoku qualified for the NCAA Championships placing sixth in the hammer throw with a new school record of 65.60 meters.
On Wednesday, Eric Albright placed third in his heat to automatically qualify for the quarterfinals that took place yesterday. Jack Barchet also ran in the 800m but just missed quarterfinal qualification. Yesterday, Albright improved his school record in the 800m to 1:46.86, just missing NCAA qualification by two spots.
The NCAA Championships will take place in Eugene, OR at University of Oregon’s Hayward Field June 11-14.
